COMPATIBILITY / MISAKA26

misaka26 supported builds—and where support stops.

The latest public release claims iOS and iPadOS through 26.1 plus one specific 26.2 beta. Extraction or a clean reboot does not extend that boundary.

THE DIRECT ANSWER

26.2 beta 1 is the last named build.

misaka26 1.6 claims iOS/iPadOS 16.0–26.1 and 26.2 beta 1. Build 23C5027f identifies that final beta boundary. Beta 2, final 26.2 and every later release are outside the published range.

RELEASE STATE

Latest does not cancel Unstable.

GitHub routes 1.6 as its normal Latest release, while the developer put the risk label directly in the release name.

GITHUB METADATALATEST

This is the public title chosen by the developer. We keep it next to every compatibility result.

OLDER RELEASESNOT A SAFE FALLBACK

All seven releases are named Unstable; 1.0–1.3 also carry DON’T USE or HIGH RISK labels.

Build numbers identify an exact system state; they do not certify the app. Apple sources establish 23B85 and 23C5027f as OS builds. misaka26 and bl_sbx sources establish the compatibility claim.

WHY THE BOUNDARY EXISTS

Extraction and writing use different paths.

The Shortcut obtaining a plist does not test the mechanism that writes an edited MobileGestalt cache back to the device.

01 / EXTRACT

Read the device identity.

The Shortcut produces MobileGestalt input. It can succeed even when a later system has patched the write path.

02 / WRITE

Cross the build-specific gate.

The credited bl_sbx POC uses itunesstored and bookassetd behavior to write mobile-owned files, including the MobileGestalt cache. Its README stops at 26.2 beta 1.

03 / OBSERVE

Test the actual capability.

A write or reboot can complete while the setting stays absent. Hardware, region, model identity and the selected feature still decide the outcome.

SUCCESS HAS SIX CHECKPOINTS

Record where the result stopped.

This turns “misaka26 did not work” into a useful environment report without assuming every failure has the same cause.

  1. 01Extracted

    Device plist obtained

  2. 02Imported

  3. 03Applied

    Process reached completion

  4. 04Restarted

    Reboot or respring occurred

  5. 05Exposed

  6. 06Working

ISSUE #115 / WINDOWS

Observed path: Apply said success → device rebooted → Apple Intelligence and Always-On Display settings remained missing.

KNOWN LATER-BUILD OUTCOMES

No effect is a stop signal—not a retry plan.

These are individual reports, not failure rates. They matter because each environment is already outside the official range.

26.3 / COMMUNITY

Extraction survived; Apply support did not.

An update discussion separates a MobileGestalt export from the ability to restore changes on 26.3. The surviving read step does not reopen compatibility.

26.4 BETA 1 / ISSUE #362

Rebooted without the AOD option.

An iPhone 16 report says Apply and reboot completed, but Always-On Display did not appear. The build is outside the release claim.

26.5 BETA 2 / ISSUE #370

Repeated Apply still changed nothing.

An iPhone 15 report describes several Apple Intelligence attempts with clean reboots and no applied feature. Repetition did not extend the boundary.

PLATFORM AVAILABILITY

1.6 publishes macOS and Windows files.

Attached desktop apps prove platform distribution—not device compatibility or feature success.

MACOS ASSET

misaka26-v1.6-macOS-Edition.zip

The changelog says an Intel crash was fixed in 1.4. The archive name itself does not publish a complete macOS or architecture matrix.

WINDOWS ASSET

misaka26-v1.6-Windows-Edition.zip

The public 1.6 asset is official. A Windows app existing does not resolve the TrollPad documentation conflict or any later iOS build.

LINUX ASSET

No official file

No public misaka26 1.6 Linux binary is attached. Do not transfer the compatibility claim to an unofficial port or online installer.

MISAKA26 QUESTIONS

Builds, platforms and no-effect results.

Direct answers for 26.1, the exact 26.2 beta 1 boundary, later unsupported builds and the difference between extraction and Apply.

What iOS and iPadOS versions does misaka26 support?

The official misaka26 repository and 1.6 release claim iOS/iPadOS 16.0 through 26.1, plus exactly 26.2 beta 1. The release does not claim 26.2 beta 2, 26.2 final, 26.3, 26.4, 26.5 or iOS 27.

Does misaka26 support iOS 16, 17 or 18?

Those versions sit inside the broad official 1.6 range, but legacy MisakaX can be the more conservative route for an older build. A range match also does not make every feature available: each feature has its own minimum system, model and hardware requirements.

Does misaka26 work on iOS 26.0 or 26.0.1?

Both versions are inside the official 1.6 range. The related bl_sbx proof of concept says its write path is compatible through 26.2 beta 1 and was tested on an iPhone 12 running 26.0.1. That technical test supports the boundary; it does not prove every misaka26 feature or device outcome.

Does misaka26 support iOS 26.1 build 23B85?

Yes as an official release claim. Apple identifies 23B85 as the iOS/iPadOS 26.1 release build, and misaka26 1.6 explicitly includes 26.1. The app remains named Unstable, and the final feature result still needs to be verified.

Does misaka26 support iOS 26.2 beta 1 build 23C5027f?

Yes as the exact published upper boundary. Apple identifies 23C5027f as iOS 26.2 beta 1, the misaka26 1.6 release names that beta, and the related bl_sbx proof of concept says 26.2 beta 1 and below are compatible.

What if Settings says 26.2 but the build is 23C5027f?

Use both fields together. Build 23C5027f is the exact iOS/iPadOS 26.2 beta 1 build named at the compatibility ceiling. A generic 26.2 label without that build is not enough to classify beta 1, beta 2, RC or final as the same system state.

Does misaka26 support iOS 26.2 beta 2?

No official misaka26 release claims beta 2. The published boundary is beta 1, not the whole 26.2 beta cycle. Do not remove the beta number or reuse 23C5027f to force a match.

Does misaka26 work on iOS 26.2 final or 26.2.1?

No official release names either build. Both are later than the explicit 26.2 beta 1 ceiling. A Shortcut still being able to export MobileGestalt does not prove that misaka26 can write the edited data back.

Does misaka26 support iOS 26.3?

No. iOS 26.3 is outside the 1.6 range. Later issue and community discussions ask for 26.3 support or report that extraction survived an update while Apply support did not; neither signal extends the release boundary.

Does misaka26 support iOS 26.4?

No. The official ceiling remains 26.2 beta 1. Issue #362 reports an iPhone 16 on 26.4 beta 1 rebooting without the requested Always-On Display option appearing, which is a no-effect report—not a new support route.

Does misaka26 support iOS 26.5 or iOS 27?

No current public misaka26 release claims either version. Issue #370 records repeated Apple Intelligence attempts on 26.5 beta 2 that rebooted without applying the feature. Repeating Apply on a later unsupported build does not move the compatibility ceiling.

Why is misaka26 1.6 both Latest and Unstable?

GitHub marks 1.6 as the normal Latest release and its API says it is not a prerelease. The maintainer chose “misaka26 - 1.6 Unstable” as the release name. Latest describes GitHub routing; Unstable describes the developer’s own risk label. Both are relevant.

Are older misaka26 versions more stable than 1.6?

No evidence supports that assumption. Every public release from 1.0 through 1.6 is named Unstable, and versions 1.0 through 1.3 are additionally marked “DON’T USE” or “HIGH RISK” in the release index. Do not downgrade the app to escape the warning.

Is misaka26 still maintained?

The public repository is not archived, but the latest public binary and repository update we can verify are from November 19, 2025. That record does not prove the project is abandoned or actively supported. Until a newer official release changes the range, 26.2 beta 1 remains the published ceiling.

Does misaka26 work on Windows?

Yes as a platform attachment. The 1.6 release publishes a dedicated Windows archive as well as a macOS archive. Platform availability does not override the iPhone or iPad build boundary, and individual features can still have different platform notes.

Does misaka26 work on Intel Macs?

The official changelog says Intel Mac support was present by 1.3 and an Intel crash was fixed in 1.4. The current 1.6 release publishes one macOS archive rather than separate architecture files, so verify your actual launch and feature path instead of treating the filename as a complete architecture matrix.

Does TrollPad work with misaka26 on Windows?

The official 1.6 page conflicts at the feature level: its current TrollPad line says macOS is required, while the v1.3 changelog says TrollPad Windows and Intel Mac support was added. We do not turn that conflict into a confirmed Windows TrollPad claim. It does not change the fact that the overall 1.6 app has a Windows file.

Does misaka26 support iPad and iPadOS?

The official range names both iOS and iPadOS. That makes iPadOS part of the release claim, but an iPhone identity spoof, TrollPad mode or another capability still has its own model and recovery risks. Do not use another device’s MobileGestalt file.

If the MobileGestalt Shortcut works, is my build supported?

No. Extraction reads and exports an input. Compatibility requires the separate write/apply path to work on the exact build. Import, Apply, reboot, setting visibility and the final feature result are all later checkpoints.

Why does misaka26 say success but make no changes?

A success message can describe restore preparation or process completion rather than the final capability. Issue #115 reports a Windows Apply that said success and rebooted, yet Apple Intelligence and Always-On Display remained missing. Re-check the exact build first, then diagnose the feature instead of repeatedly applying.

Does misaka26 support every listed feature on every compatible build?

No. The overall range only routes the release. The official feature list gives different minimum versions—for example iOS 26.0+ for PWM and SRD mode, iOS 18.0+ for Always-On Display, and a much narrower range for the TrollStore Installer. Hardware and region can narrow the outcome further.

Is misaka26 a jailbreak?

No. misaka26 is a desktop customization utility that works with device-specific MobileGestalt data and a version-bounded write path. It does not create a general jailbreak environment for arbitrary tweak injection.

Can I use misaka26 without a computer?

Not through the official workflow. The Shortcut helps generate MobileGestalt input, but the official 1.6 release provides macOS and Windows desktop applications for import and Apply. A website or IPA claiming to replace that workflow is a separate, unverified product.

Should I downgrade iOS to use misaka26?

This page does not recommend downgrading. Signing windows expire, downgrade paths can erase data, and old advice can become impossible. Preserve the exact current build and use only a route that is explicitly supported now.

Can I update iOS after using misaka26?

Do not assume an applied customization or the ability to reapply it survives an update. Record the current ProductVersion, BuildVersion and changes before updating, revert when the feature workflow calls for it, then check the destination build independently. Any build later than 26.2 beta 1 is outside the current misaka26 claim.
